Hifazat-e-Islam activists protested in Dhaka demanding removal of the statue of the Greek goddess from the Supreme Court complex, saying that the Supreme Court is the institution of all. So, such images can not be installed there.
Amir Ahmad Shafi of the organization said in a statement that by placing the statue of Greek deity in his language, 90 percent Muslims of Bangladesh were hurt in religious beliefs and traditions.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had supported her demand for removal of sculpture from the Supreme Court complex.
