Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shaheed Abbasi




Shahid Khakan Abbasi is Pakistan's new Prime Minister After the Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif last week, Shaheed Khakan Abbasi was elected as the 18th Prime Minister of the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Geo TV Online reported that Abbasi got 231 votes out of 339 votes in the National Assembly. His rival Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Naveed Kamar 47 and PTI candidate Sheikh Rashid get 33 votes.

Abbas has been nominated as the interim prime minister. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the younger brother of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, will be in charge of the interim prime minister during the 45-day period to finish the process of being elected as the Chief Minister of Punja
