Police arrested a young man for raping a college girl in Rangpur and spreading his fixed and video footage through social network. He was arrested from Rangpur city's Rangpara area on Tuesday.
The arrested youth's name was Noor Mohammad (23). His house was Nilphamari. He studied there from a private polytechnic institute.
This information was given on Wednesday at a press conference organized by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Rangpur office.
Presenting the written statement at the press conference, additional police superintendent Shahidullah Kawher of PBI Rangpur district presented the statement.
He said that during the arrest of the accused Nur Mohammad, two mobile phones, one pen drive, four blank cards and three memory cards were seized from him.
In the sealed enclosures, rape videos and scripts were found on PenDrive and Memory Cards. It was informed at the press conference that Nur Mohammad confirmed the incident in the initial inquiry.
It was told in the press conference that the student, who was in a school in Rangpur, was introduced to Nur Mohammad while studying in the school. At one stage, relations between the two developed. Later on April 14, 2015, the girl was taken to a residential hotel in Rangpur by showing her the temptation of marriage and raping her, Nur Mohammad.
Nur Mohammad took pictures of rape on mobile phone. Later on, Nur Mohammad raped her by taking various parts of the video to threaten to spread the video. Day after day of torture, when the girl sat on the stairs, Nur Mohammad sent some obscene pictures of her girl to the Facebook messenger. In such a situation, the girl tried suicide in a residential mes. When the matter became known, the students of the residential mess told the PBI to the victim's victim. The girl is in a mess surrounding the college.
On August 8, the girl filed a case with Rangpur Kotwali Police Station in the rape and pornography section of the Women's Torture and Suppression Act. On the same day, police arrested Nur Mohammad from Rangpur Collegapara.
In the press conference, Special Police Super Majid Ali, PBI, answered the questions of the journalists, all the information related to the incident from the accused Nur Mohammad was seized. Nur Mohammad admitted to the rape.
However, no comment of the whole matter of Nur Mohammad or his family was immediately available.
